Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Extern PRN works under RN supervision, assisting in patient care. Responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with the clinical team to develop and implement care plans, performing direct and indirect patient care under supervision.
• Gathering and documenting patient information throughout their care cycle.
• Assisting with patient mobility, transfers, and positioning.
• Translating medical terminology for patient and family understanding.
• Educating patients and families on health, lifestyle, and discharge planning.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited nursing program, capable of performing higher procedures upon competency.
• Ability to create and review a personal career development plan.
• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) licensure.
