Job summary

Mission Point Health Care seeks a Staff Development Coordinator to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the Staff Development Program for the assigned building. The role includes clinical tasks and supporting other departments as needed.

You will collaborate with the DNS to ensure nursing staff competency, develop orientation programs, and maintain compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as an Registered Nurse required.
• Valid CPR teaching certificate, if applicable.
• Current with state Continuing Education (CE) Requirements.
• Three years of nursing experience, including one year in long-term care.
• One year of experience as an instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides compliance training and education per Company Code of Conduct.
• Ensures documentation for training meets state, federal and compliance requirements.
• Monitors employee performance and addresses compliance issues.
• Develops and conducts orientation for new, rehired and contract staff.
• Manages Employee Health program.
• Provides hands-on clinical orientation to licensed and unlicensed personnel.
• Coordinates CPR and new employee training.
• Assesses resident needs and designs training accordingly.
• Ensures clinical competency of nursing staff with DNS oversight.
• Assists in department budget and cost containment.
• Conducts OSHA/Risk Management with proper documentation.
• Ensures educational curriculum meets accreditation requirements.
• Plans state and federal in-service programs.
• Conducts certification training for CNAs.
• May assume additional duties such as Infection Preventionist.
