Job summary

Dexter House Healthcare in Malden, MA, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join our management team as Staff Development (SDC). You will educate and mentor the nursing staff, plan in-services, and ensure compliance with federal and state standards in a long-term care setting.

You will assist in directing the Nursing Services Department, coordinate education programs, and maintain proper documentation while collaborating with administrators and other departments.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing and currently licensed by the state.
• Must have thorough knowledge of nursing theory, techniques and practices.
• Must have good verbal and communication skills with the ability to demonstrate organizational and educational skills.
• Must show ability to read and write in a legible and understandable manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, developing and directing the day to day functions of the Nursing Services Department.
• Provide general orientation, mandatory in-services, continuing education, and other training to meet all department and facility needs and regulatory requirements.
• Identify staff learning needs and implement and evaluate programs.
• Develop and implement nursing education plans and coordinate nursing services with other resident services.
