Job summary

Norwood HealthCare in Norwood, MA is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our management team as Infection Control Preventionist Staff Development Coordinator (SDC). This role supports the Director of Nursing Services and leads staff education, infection control, and clinical quality initiatives.

The SDC will develop and direct day-to-day nursing services, implement training programs, collaborate with other departments, ensure compliance with CDC/DPH regulations, and mentor staff to

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing and licensed in the state.
• Infection control experience and pursuit/attainment of Infection Control Certification.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing theory, techniques and practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Experience in hospital or long-term care settings preferred.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop and direct day-to-day Nursing Services in accordance with standards.
• Provide staff orientation, mandatory in-services and continuing education.
• Determine and assess facility education needs and plan trainings.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services and departments.
• Implement plans to correct deficiencies and ensure proper documentation.
• Oversee infection control practices and compliance with CDC/DPH regulations.
• Onboard and educate infection control practices for new employees.
• Collaborate with medical director on epidemiologic investigations.
