Job summary

Morgan Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) to lead education and training for our nursing team. The role focuses on developing programs, conducting orientations, and maintaining competency records to support high-quality resident care.

Ideal candidates hold an active Rhode Island RN license and have experience in educational leadership within long-term care settings, with strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, active RN license in Rhode Island.
• Experience in staff development or educational leadership within a healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong relationship-building and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations and staff competency requirements.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate staffing levels to support quality resident outcomes.
• Develop, coordinate, and provide education and training programs for new and existing employees.
• Conduct employee orientation and ongoing in-service education to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain education records, competency validations, and required documentation.
• Support admissions and overall nursing workflow.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify educational needs and promote staff development.
• Monitor compliance with mandatory training requirements and clinical competencies.
• Support quality improvement initiatives through education and coaching.
