Southampton Rehabilitation is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) to lead education, training, and competency programs for nursing staff.

This full-time role requires an active VA RN license and experience in educational leadership within a nursing center, guiding regulatory compliance and staff development.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, active RN license in VA.
• Experience as Staff Development Coordinator, Infection Preventionist, or similar educational leadership role preferred.
• Strong ability to build positive relationships with staff at all levels.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations, nursing education, and staff competency requirements.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure center maintains appropriate staffing levels to support resident outcomes.
• Develop, coordinate, and provide education and training programs for employees.
• Conduct orientation and ongoing in-service education to ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain education records, competency validations, and documentation.
• Assist with admissions and support nursing workflow and resident care units.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify educational needs and drive staff development.
• Monitor mandatory training compliance and clinical competencies.
• Support quality improvement initiatives through education and coaching.
