Job summary

Southampton Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) to lead education, training, and competency programs for our nursing team. This full-time role requires an active RN license in Virginia and strong leadership in clinical staff development and regulatory compliance.

The SDC will develop and coordinate education for new and current staff, maintain education records, and partner with nursing leadership to identify and address training needs.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, active, and unencumbered RN license in the state of VA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the center maintains appropriate staffing levels and nursing care to support quality resident outcomes.
• Develop, coordinate, and provide education and training programs for new and existing employees.
• Conduct employee orientation and ongoing in-service education to ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate and organized education records, competency validations, and required documentation.
• Assist with admissions as needed and support the nursing department's overall workflow and resident care units.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify educational needs and promote continuous staff development.
• Monitor compliance with mandatory training requirements and clinical competencies.
• Support quality improvement initiatives through education, coaching, and staff development.
