Genesis HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a registered nurse educator to support our long-term care teams in Gardendale, Alabama.

You will report to the Director of Nursing, develop education programs, and supervise new staff during orientation while aligning practices with current patient care standards. You should have an active RN license, a nursing degree, and prior clinical experience in long-term care, with a track record in adult education.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred.
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills required.
• Experience in Gerontology preferred.
• Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Nursing.
• Develop education programs in response to staff needs and teach current patient care and nursing center practices.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees during orientation.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluation of nursing staff.
• Provide oversight to Employee Health Program including TB and hepatitis vaccines and influenza immunizations.
