Job summary

Intermountain Health in Montana is seeking a part-time RN Shift Lead I to provide leadership and clinical expertise on day shifts. You will coordinate unit staffing and resources to align with census and acuity, serving as a clinical role model for staff.

The role requires a BSN within four years (or 15 years acute care), Montana RN license, and BLS certification. The position may involve floating to other departments, with some on-call expectations.

Qualifications

• BSN degree from an accredited program within 4 years unless 15 years of acute care service.
• Current State of Montana Registered Nurse License.
• BLS Certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and/or provide direct patient care and support staff in addressing patient/family concerns, physician concerns, risk management, associate safety, and hospital safety.
• Respond to patient emergencies and act as charge or lead for disasters when needed.
• Collaborate with staffing office to adjust staff numbers for census changes during the shift.
• Communicate with the oncoming Charge Nurse about census, staffing, admissions and discharges, and any issues impacting assignments.
• Support unit management in managing productivity, staffing, and timekeeping; coordinate unit activities.
• Participate in hospital committees as needed and promote Intermountain Health's mission, vision, and values.
• Perform other duties as assigned; may float to other departments within competency and qualifications; may be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
