Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse to implement and monitor patient care plans during weekend night shifts (7pm–7am). You will coordinate care across disciplines and ensure timely execution of physician and nursing orders.

The ideal candidate holds a nursing diploma, Alabama RN license, and current BLS; ACLS within six months of hire. UAB Medicine offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities within Alabama’s largest health system.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer date.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months (180 days) of hire or transfer date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire date.
• Diploma in nursing and professional licensure at time of hire.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
