Job summary

UAB Medicine in Pell City, Alabama, is seeking an experienced ED nurse to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will implement and monitor care plans, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure orders from physicians and nurses are carried out.

The role requires a Diploma in nursing and an active Alabama RN license, with BLS, ACLS, and PALS obtained within defined timeframes.

Qualifications

• BLS provider within 30 days (American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted).
• ACLS within 180 days (AHA or Red Cross accepted).
• PALS within 180 days (AHA or Red Cross accepted).
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse credentialed by the Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire.

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

Job Description

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• PALS Provider obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
• • For the Freestanding Emergency Room, a minimum of one (1) year of critical care or emergency experience is required.
