Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an on-site RN for the 3 Main, MedSurg area on a PRN schedule, based at UAB St Vincent's Birmingham. The RN will provide direct nursing care in line with hospital policies, coordinate care across disciplines, and support discharge planning with the healthcare team.

The role requires an accredited nursing diploma, active RN licensure in Alabama or eligibility, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire. A commitment to high-quality patient care is essential.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 30 days of hire. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care according to established policies and procedures.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient condition to the team.
• Acts as primary coordinator of multi-disciplinary care for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders; coordinates discharge planning with the care team.

Job Description

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the
healthcare organization.

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare
  team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required. One year of RN experience is required
