UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PRN position in the 3 Main, Med Surg department, based at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. You will deliver direct patient care following established policies, care plans, and physician orders.

You will coordinate interdisciplinary care, monitor patient status, document care, and assist in discharge planning to ensure safe transitions. A nursing diploma and an active RN license in Alabama are required, with BLS within 30 days and at least 1 year of

• Diploma from an accredited nursing program and active licensure at time of hire

Job Description

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the
healthcare organization.

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare
  team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required. One year of RN experience is required
