UAB Medicine is seeking an RN for the Med Surg 3 Main unit on a PRN basis at UAB St Vincent's Birmingham. The role involves direct nursing care and coordinating a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient outcomes. Licensure in Alabama or eligibility is required, with a Diploma in Nursing and BLS certification as prerequisites.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Job Description

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the
healthcare organization.

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare
  team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required. One year of RN experience is required
