Job summary

BayCare Health System in Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU to deliver expert, compassionate care across our network of hospitals in Pinellas and Tampa Bay. You will staff day or night shifts, participate in critical care delivery, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements include RN licensure, a nursing degree, and a minimum of 2 years ICU experience. BLS and ACLS certifications are required.

Qualifications

• RN license
• Diploma/Associate/Bachelor in Nursing
• 2+ years ICU experience in acute care
• BLS certification (American Red Cross or AHA)
• ACLS certification (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Provide independent care for ICU patients using nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to care team
• Care for patients throughout recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient vitals and assessments
• Identify and respond to changes in patient condition
• Respond to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care
• Maintain high emotional intelligence to improve patient experience
• Maintain professional accountability and development

Every day, our Registered Nurses deliver a level of excellence and compassionate care to our patients in the Intensive Care Units in Pinellas County, Florida.

Positions Options

• Locations: Multiple Locations
• Specialty: Medical/Surgical, Cardiovascular and Neuroscience
• Pool - as needed - 4-12 hours shifts per 6-week time frame
• 2 weekend shifts per 6-weeks
• Day Shift - 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Night Shift - 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Always in person

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate's, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 2-year experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
