Job summary

BayCare seeks an experienced RN for the ICU – Critical Care-Adults at South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, Florida. This is a full-time, in-person position on the 6:45 PM–7:15 AM shift with every-other-weekend requirements.

On-call is not required. The role focuses on delivering high-quality critical care, coordinating with the multidisciplinary team, and ensuring accurate documentation and patient safety.

Qualifications

• RN license required
• Diploma/Associate/Bachelor’s or higher in Nursing
• Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred
• 1 year ICU RN experience in acute care
• BLS certification (American Red Cross or AHA)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association)

Responsibilities

• Cares for ICU patients using nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegate care activities to health care team members
• Monitor patients’ vitals and assessments and document changes
• Respond to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Assist with discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care

Education

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
