Job summary

Firelands Health in Bellevue, Ohio is seeking an experienced RN for our Family Birthing Center. This PRN, part-time on-site role offers flexibility and opportunities to advance patient care.

You will perform nursing duties, educate patients and families, monitor newborns and mothers, and respond to emergencies with a patient-centered approach. Ohio RN license and CPR are required, with NRP and EKG certifications preferred or to be obtained within six months.

Qualifications

• Ohio RN license and CPR required prior to patient care.
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience preferred.
• NRP and Basic EKG certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire and kept current.
• Fetal monitoring and Stable course within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Implements nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands Health standards.
• Performs assessments, monitors care, and documents nursing interventions for physician review.
• Educates patients, families, and staff on treatments and discharge plans.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
• Demonstrates service excellence and acts as ambassador for Firelands Health.

What You Will Do:

• Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
• Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
• Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.

What You Will Need:

• Must have a current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care experience.
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience.
• Current NRP and Basic EKG required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
• Fetal Monitoring and Stable course required within 1 year.
• Board certification is preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.
