Job summary

Firelands Regional Medical Center is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for the Family Birthing Center in Bellevue, OH. The position is on-site and part-time, requiring a current Ohio RN license and CPR.

Experience in perinatal care is preferred, with expectations for a positive, patient-centered approach. You will work to ensure safe patient discharges, manage emergencies, and collaborate with physicians and family members to support quality care.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Ohio RN license.
• CPR certification is required prior to patient care.
• NRP and Basic EKG certification or equivalent training required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implements the nursing process with patients per physician orders and Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments, monitors and documents nursing interventions and reports to physicians as needed.
• Instructs patients, staff and families regarding treatments and discharge plans to ensure safe transitions.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains meds and supplies; keeps equipment and environment clean.
• Demonstrates service excellence and acts as an ambassador for Firelands Health.

What You Will Do:

• Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
• Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
• Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.

What You Will Need:

• Must have a current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care experience.
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience.
• Current NRP and Basic EKG required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
• Fetal Monitoring and Stable course required within 1 year.
• Board certification is preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.
