Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a highly skilled Charge Registered Nurse for the ICU at Bartow Regional Medical Center in Florida. The role requires 2+ years of ICU RN experience, BLS and ACLS certifications, and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field or an RN specialty certification within 7 months of hire.

You will work in a full-time, in-person capacity with a consistent shift, weekend requirements, and no on-call duties, contributing to compassionate, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• 2 years RN ICU experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Bachelor's in Nursing or related field, or RN specialty certification within 7 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Cares for a group of ICU patients in a hospital setting using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other health care team members.
• Cares for patient needs throughout recovery in critical care.
• Monitors, records, and updates the care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifies sudden or subtle changes in patient condition.
• Responds to medical emergencies for critical patients.
• Coordinates and documents discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.
• Uses high emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience and explains medical concepts clearly.
• Acts as a professional role model for the nursing team and supports development.
• Develops self and team members and shares organizational information.

• Location: Bartow Regional Medical Center – Medical/Surgical ICU – Bartow, Florida
• Status: Full Time
• Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• On Call: No
• Always in person

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice - CCRN, CDN or CNN
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR BS Healthcare related field OR an RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion
• 2-years' RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

The Charge Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
• Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team
• Developing self and team members and sharing organizational information
