Job summary

BayCare's Bartow Regional Medical Center is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse for ICU-Adults. This full-time in-person role delivers high-level critical care, coordinates a nursing team, and ensures seamless patient flow in the Medical/Surgical ICU in Bartow, Florida.

You must hold an RN license, CCRN/CDRN/CNN preferred, 2 years ICU experience, and BLS/ACLS. Shift 6:45 AM–7:15 PM, every other weekend, no on-call.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• 2 years' RN ICU experience.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Cares for ICU patients using nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegates patient care activities to the health care team.
• Monitors and documents patient vitals and responses.
• Coordinates discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR BS Healthcare related field OR an RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice - CCRN, CDN or CNN

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR BS Healthcare related field OR an RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion
• 2-years' RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Charge Registered Nurse - ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
• Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team
• Developing self and team members and sharing organizational information
