Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse for the ICU at Mease Dunedin Hospital, Medical/Surgical ICU in Dunedin, Florida. This full-time, in-person role requires shift coverage from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM with every-other-weekend work.

You will lead a team in a high-acuity setting, ensure clinical excellence, and uphold BayCare's standard of compassionate patient care while coordinating care plans for ICU patients.

Qualifications

• RN License required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or higher.
• 2+ years RN ICU experience in Acute Care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for ICU patients.
• Delegate tasks to health care team as appropriate.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to emergencies.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.

• Location: Mease Dunedin Hospital – Medical/Surgical ICU – Dunedin, Florida
• Status: Full Time

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice - CCRN, CDN or CNN

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR BS Healthcare related field OR an RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion
• 2-years' RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Charge Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
• Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team
• Developing self and team members and sharing organizational information
