Job summary

BayCare Health System is hiring a Registered Nurse for the ICU at our BayCare Systems Office– eICU in Clearwater, Florida. This full-time position runs 5:45 PM to 6:15 AM with every other weekend, and in-person requirements apply.

The ICU RN will deliver compassionate, high-level care in a hospital setting, coordinating with the care team, monitoring patients, and participating in discharge planning while maintaining clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Nursing degree at least Diploma/AS/BSN or higher.
• Preferred: BSN.
• 2 years' ICU RN experience in acute care.
• Preferred: 5 years ICU experience.
• BLS/ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Care for ICU patients using nursing process and standards.
• Delegate care to health care team members as needed.
• Monitor and document patient vitals and progress.
• Identify changes in patient condition and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with discharge planning and referrals.

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 2-years' RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• Preferred RN experience - 5-years in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
