Corewell Health’s Ludington Hospital Med Surg Care Unit 2N 2E is seeking a full-time night-shift RN to deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a 25-bed unit. The role supports a patient-centered, collaborative environment on a campus serving Mason and Oceana County residents.

Qualifications include ADN or higher with RN licensure in Michigan, BLS, ACLS, and ongoing education as required. Weekend rotation is every other weekend, with 36 weekly hours and shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing required.
• Bachelors in Nursing required within 5 years.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days.
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably per the ANA nursing process and standards of professional performance; demonstrates critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and patient safety.

Our Med Surg Unit is a 25-bed department providing comprehensive care to patients from Mason County and surrounding West Michigan communities.

This unit cares for a wide range of medical conditions, including:

• Pneumonia and respiratory illnesses
• Cellulitis and infectious processes
• Kidney failure and acute/chronic kidney injury
• Diabetes-related conditions and hyperglycemia
• Ulcers and wound care needs
• Geriatric and confused elderly patients
• Alcohol-related health concerns
• Sepsis
• Select psychiatric patients

Med Surg offers a broad clinical experience with a supportive team environment.

Scope of work

Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
