Corewell Health's Ludington Hospital is seeking an RN for our Med Surg unit (25 beds) to provide comprehensive patient care in Mason County and West Michigan. The role supports a broad range of medical conditions with a collaborative team approach, under RN or Provider supervision.

The position is full-time, night shift, with a 36-hour week. The unit emphasizes safety, documentation accuracy, and responsive care in a welcoming community hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing required within 5 years.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• BLS or ARC Basic Life Support required within 90 days; ACLS required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering quality patient care under RN or Provider supervision.
• Take vital signs and report observations to the health care team.
• Provide wound care, catheterization, and safety-attendant duties as needed.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient information.

About The Unit

Our Med Surg Unit is a 25-bed department providing comprehensive care to patients from Mason County and surrounding West Michigan communities.

This unit cares for a wide range of medical conditions, including:

• Pneumonia and respiratory illnesses
• Cellulitis and infectious processes
• Kidney failure and acute/chronic kidney injury
• Diabetes-related conditions and hyperglycemia
• Ulcers and wound care needs
• Geriatric and confused elderly patients
• Alcohol-related health concerns
• Sepsis
• Select psychiatric patients

Scope of work

Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider. Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing Required
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months
