Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 5A Telemetry Observation Unit at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. The unit focuses on rapid assessment, treatment, and monitoring of patients with acute medical conditions, serving chest pain, TIAs, trauma, and other needs.

The role requires PA RN licensure (or eNLC) and CPR certification, with 72-hour shifts every two weeks, and rotating weekends/holidays. Union presence is noted in this full-time position.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Pennsylvania or eNLC
• CPR certification required
• Criminal background clearances per state requirements

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical assessment and care planning for telemetry patients.
• Provides safe, effective care following regulatory requirements.
• Directs and manages patient care activities by the team.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team from admission to discharge.
• Educates patient and family based on age and learning needs.
