Job summary

Allegheny General Hospital's 12A Telemetry Unit in Pittsburgh seeks a Registered Nurse to provide nursing care to high-acuity post-surgical cardiac, thoracic, vascular and transplant patients, including LVADs, in a 24-bed unit.

The role involves nursing process, assessments, care planning, collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, patient and family education, and adherence to HIPAA and compliance policies. Union and rotating shifts with weekends/holidays per policy.

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania RN licensure (or multi-state via eNLC).
• Current CPR certification.
• Background clearances: Act 34, Act 33, Act 73.
• CPR and nursing credentials required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills.
• Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
• Directs and manages activities of the patient care delivery by the team.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team for care plan from admission through discharge.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education.
