Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 5A Telemetry Observation Unit at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. The role involves rapid assessment, treatment and monitoring of patients with acute medical conditions on a CDU/Observation Unit bridging ED and inpatient care.

The position requires PA RN licensure (or eNLC), CPR certification, and clear background checks; it includes rotating weekends/holidays and full-time status with a unionized environment.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN licensure or valid multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical assessment and care planning skills.
• Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
• Directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
