Job summary

Armor Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Blair County Jail team in Hollisdayburg, PA. This PRN position works day shift from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm, with 12-hour shifts.

The RN will provide holistic care in a correctional setting and collaborate with medical staff to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes. Qualified candidates hold an active RN license, CPR certification, and EMR proficiency, and must be able to pass Level 2 background checks.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing.
• CPR certification current.
• Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Ability to pass Level 2 background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic RN care in a correctional setting.
• Assess health history and document admission assessments.
• Document and communicate triage decisions to health care providers.
• Develop individualized nursing care plans with providers.
• Administer medications and manage nutrition/therapeutic diets.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic (RN) nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assess physical, psychological, and social dimensions of patients; obtain health history and provide a written assessment of patients upon admission.
• During custody and upon discharge, document and communicate triage decisions to the appropriate health care provider.
• Develop individual nursing care plans using nursing assessment protocols in consultation with health care providers.
• Implement medical care plans to include diagnostic tests, EKGs, etc., according to physician orders.
• Administer medications using proper techniques, procedures, and approved routes of administration; nutrition and therapeutic diet plans.
• Assist physician in medical or minor surgical procedures as necessary.

Qualifications

• Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Current CPR certificate
• Proficient with electronic medical records
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen
