Job summary

SCA Health in Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) PreOp PACU to deliver compassionate perioperative care across the preoperative and immediate postoperative phases. You will assess patients, interpret monitors, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate care with anesthesia, surgeons and bedside teams to ensure safe recoveries and timely transfers.

This role requires a Nursing degree, state licensure, and current BLS/ACLS (PALS if pediatric); one year PACU or preop experience

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state licensure to practice in the state.
• BLS/BCLS certification completed within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification completed within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification required when pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per facility policies.
• Interpret information from monitors accurately.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Implement the plan during recovery from anesthesia.
• Communicate patient status throughout the perianesthesia continuum.
• Provide age-appropriate, culturally competent care and protect patient privacy.
• Document nursing care completely, accurately, and legibly.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in performance improvement.

Accredited School of Nursing graduate

State licensure to practice
