Job summary

South Texas Specialty Hospital seeks a Full-Time RN for PreOp/PACU to deliver high-quality nursing care. You will monitor patients, ensure safety, and support discharge planning, with opportunities to assist during procedures and sedation.

  • Ensure patient safety, comfort and privacy at all times.
  • Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile technique.
  • Deliver total care for post-anesthesia patients from PACU to discharge planning.

South Texas Specialty Hospital is hiring a Full-Time RN PreOp PACU

Welcome to South Texas Specialty Hospital

We have 25 Beds and 8 OR rooms and 3 ER Rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Orthopedic, Spine.

PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse at South Texas Specialty Hospital

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state
  • BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
  • 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
