Job summary

Texas Orthopedic Center of Excellence is seeking a RN PreOp/PACU to deliver continuous, high-quality nursing care for patients undergoing outpatient procedures. The role emphasizes patient safety, comfort, and privacy, with potential ad hoc support for physicians during procedures and sedation.

The position requires an RN license, BLS/ACLS, and 2 years in PACU or critical care. Weekdays only; some early mornings or evenings may occur, with schedule changes based on the day’s surgical flow.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients, with continual evaluation of patient condition.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile techniques as appropriate.
• Provide total care to patients emerging from general anesthesia or sedation; assess, plan, implement and evaluate preparation for discharge.

Texas Orthopedic Center of Excellence is hiring a RN PreOp/PACU

Welcome to Texas Orthopedic Center of Excellence

We have 5 OR rooms and 1 Treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in GI, Orthopedic, Pain. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse at Texas Orthopedic Center of Excellence

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
