Job summary

South Texas Specialty Hospital in San Antonio, TX is seeking a PRN PACU RN to provide safe, quality care for patients recovering from anesthesia. You will monitor vitals, maintain privacy, and support families during recovery.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians in the OR, applying conscious sedation as needed, and ensuring timely discharge planning with accurate assessments and documentation. BLS/ACLS required; PACU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse licensed to practice in Texas.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.

• Provide continuous nursing care for patients in PACU and monitor recovery.
• Ensure patient safety, privacy, and comfort during recovery.

Welcome to South Texas Specialty Hospital

We have 25 Beds and 8 OR rooms and 3 ER Rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Orthopedic, Spine.

PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN) at South Texas Specialty Hospital

The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years' experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
