Description:Start date is flexible.Work schedule includes two 8-hour shifts and two 10-hour shifts per week.In the PACU, start times fluctuate between 0730 and 0830, with Thursdays starting at 0830.The patient population includes a wide range of cases.Short procedures include EGDs, BMTTs, MRIs, T&As, DLBs, and more.Bigger cases involve Pectus Excavatum repair, spinal fusions, cardiac catheterizations, EVDs, breast reductions, and orthopedic procedures.Skills required include management of arterial lines, tracheostomies with home vents, precedex drips, chest tubes, drains, and Foley catheters.Focus areas include airway management, assessment and vital signs, medication administration, and discharge teaching.In Phase 1, care is provided one-on-one with patients, monitoring every 15 minutes.In Phase 2, care may be one-on-one or one RN to four patients in Stepdown, with monitoring at least every hour in preparation for discharge.Communication with anesthesiologists is essential for managing medication orders and assisting with signouts.Surgeons are responsible for managing discharge orders, instructions, wound issues, and radiology orders.
