Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a registered nurse for a PACU assignment in Washington, DC for a 13-week engagement. The role requires 1–2 years ICU or Level I trauma PACU experience and an active RN license in the state. Day shift, 12-hour hours per shift.

Certifications PALS, BLS, ACLS required; CPAN, TNCC, CCRN highly desirable. Must have PACU/Preop experience, able to work independently, and demonstrate strong critical thinking while updating EMR and caring for post-operative patients.

Qualifications

  • RN license current in the state.
  • 1–2 years ICU and/or Level I trauma PACU experience.
  • PALS, BLS, ACLS required; CPAN/TNCC/CCRN highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor post-operative patients' recovery and consciousness.
  • Obtain and record vital signs.
  • Observe signs of anesthesia side effects and treat pain, nausea, and other symptoms as prescribed.
  • Update charting in EMR and patient records.
  • Educate patients and families on post-surgery care.

Description:Monitor post-operative patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia and provide updates to the medical team as needed.Obtain and record patients' vital signs.Observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication.Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia and administer medication as prescribed.Update charting (EMR), patient files, and medical records.Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care and answer any questions.
