Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an experienced RN to join the Pediatric Oncology unit in Durham, NC for a 13-week assignment. You will provide specialized nursing care to young patients undergoing chemotherapy, with emphasis on safety, comfort, and family communication.

The role requires at least 1 year in pediatric oncology, BLS, PALS, chemo certifications, and proficient port access and chemotherapy administration, along with charting responsibilities and teamwork across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Must have charge experience, patient ratio experience, and charting system experience.

Responsibilities

Description:Targeted start date is 10/5.Minimum of 1 year of experience is required.Certifications required: BLS, PALS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), APHON.Skills required include accessing and managing ports, administration of chemotherapy, and pediatric oncology expertise.Care for pediatric oncology patients, including those needing stem cell transplant and cellular therapy.Experience with high-risk hematologic malignancies and brain tumors is necessary.Daily census in the unit is approximately 16 patients.The unit caters to a diverse patient population including adolescents, infants, and children.Key responsibilities include monitoring chemotherapy, patient and family education, and infusion management.Team collaboration with various interdisciplinary support services is essential.Candidates must be prepared to handle emergencies and complex patient scenarios.All required certifications must be in hand at the time of submission.Candidates must provide a supervisory reference within the last year.Absences during the contract are capped at three.Attendance will be monitored, with strict policies in place regarding tardiness and no-shows.
