Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse, Pediatric (Day Shift) in Richmond, Virginia, to join the Chippenham Hospital pediatric team on a 13-week contract.

You'll care for pediatric patients in a 15-bed unit with a 1:4 to 1:5 staffing ratio, perform head-to-toe assessments, IV placements, med administration, and respiratory support, using Meditech for documentation. BLS and PALS are required and must hold an active RN license.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of pediatric clinical experience preferred.
• PALS and BLS certifications required.
• Current RN license in Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments and IV placements.
• Administer medications and provide respiratory support.
• Manage nasogastric/gastric tube feeding and lab collections.
• Set up oxygen therapy devices and monitor patient status.
• Conduct blood transfusion administration and chest tube care.
• Float to PICU for step-down patients and care for healthy newborns in Labor and Delivery Recovery Post-Partum.

Job Description

Join our Pediatric team at Chippenham Hospital, where you will care for a population of pediatric patients in a 15-bed unit with a staffing ratio of 1:4 to 1:5. You will collaborate with Unit Secretaries and Nurse Externs, utilizing equipment such as Baxter Pumps and Medfusion Pumps while documenting patient care in the Meditech system.

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments and IV placements.
• Administer medications and provide respiratory support.
• Manage nasogastric/gastric tube feeding and lab collections.
• Set up and use oxygen therapy devices (nasal cannula, high flow).
• Conduct blood transfusion administration and nasogastric tube placements.
• Maintain chest tubes as needed.
• Float to PICU for step-down patients and may care for healthy newborns in Labor and Delivery Recovery Post-Partum.

Required Experience

1-3 years of clinical experience in a pediatric setting is preferred. Candidate must have Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.

Certifications/Licensure

Current RN license and certifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS).
