Job summary

Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA seeks a dedicated pediatric RN to provide high-quality, patient-centered care from birth through young adulthood. The role emphasizes teamwork with pediatric specialists to develop and execute individualized care plans.

Qualified candidates hold an RN license for Virginia (or a Multistate license), 1+ year in acute pediatrics, and BLS; PALS must be obtained within 30 days of start. A BSN is preferred and opportunities for education are available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• 1 year of nursing experience in a pediatric unit preferred.
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care to infants, children, adolescents and young adults with various conditions.
• Collaborate with pediatric intensivists, pediatricians, therapists, dieticians, pharmacists and social workers to create care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor patient status as needed.
• Document throughout stay using computerized systems from admission to discharge.
• Maintain professionalism and cultural sensitivity with patients, families and staff.
