Job summary

Tenet Massachusetts is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Manager to lead the patient safety program as the Patient Safety Officer – Risk Management in Worcester, MA. This leadership role directs staff in process improvements to reduce medical errors and safeguard patient outcomes.

The role requires a BS in an inpatient care field with JD, 5+ years direct patient care, 3+ years in Quality/Risk/Patient Safety, and CPPRM/CPPS eligibility.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in inpatient care related field with J.D.
• Experience: 5 years in direct patient care and 3 years in Quality/Risk/Patient Safety.
• Licensure/Certification: CPHRM or CPPS Certification or eligible to take the exam within two years of employment.
• Preferred: Master’s in Nursing, Health Services, or Patient Safety; completion of patient safety curriculum

Responsibilities

• Oversees the patient safety program across the facility.
• Directs others in the facility toward process improvements to reduce medical errors.
• Educates staff on system-based causes of medical errors and safety strategies.
• Coordinates activities of the patient safety function or committee.
• Notifies Risk Management of potential risk issues and revises policies accordingly.
