Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Level II Competent Registered Nurse to provide total, continuous, patient-centered care for an assigned group of patients. The RN collaborates with the care team, applies evidence-based practice, and participates in performance improvement activities and discharge planning.

Responsibilities include directing nursing care, coordinating with the multidisciplinary team, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and RN license.
• Virginia RN license or reciprocal compact state required.
• BSN preferred; BLS required; NIHSS (Bluecloud) required at hire.
• 2 years of recent RN acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care with licensed and unlicensed staff using the nursing process and teamwork.
• Coordinate patient and family involvement in care and discharge planning.
• Communicate and coordinate the plan of care with the health team.
• Assist leadership to define standards of excellence and participate in quality improvement.
• Provide patient education and participate in unit, departmental, and hospital committees.
• Maintain acceptable productivity standards as determined by leadership.
