Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare seeks a Level II Competent Registered Nurse who is clinically able to care for patients and collaborate with the healthcare team to improve quality of care in the designated clinical area. The RN applies evidence-based knowledge and the nursing process to provide total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care.

The role includes directing care with interdisciplinary teams, participating in discharge planning, and contributing to performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state.
• BSN is preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• AHA ACLS Provider required within 60 days.
• AHA PALS Provider required within 90 days.
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care using the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Coordinate involvement of patient, family and health team members in care and discharge planning.
• Communicate plan of care to other health team members.
• Assist Leadership to define standards of excellence for patient care and participate in quality improvement.
• Participate in performance improvement and orientation of new staff.
• Act as point of contact on hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Participate in daily operational activities for safe patient/staff environment.
• Provide input to Nurse Manager regarding unit needs.
• Participate in committees for nursing and hospital policies.
