Job summary

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Pinecroft is hiring a PRN RN PACU to provide continuous, high-quality care for patients emerging from anesthesia in a busy outpatient setting.

The PACU RN coordinates care, ensures patient safety and privacy, supports physicians in procedure rooms, and adapts to the day’s surgical schedule. Weekdays only; no holidays, weekends, or on-call requirements, with potential early mornings or late evenings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as appropriate.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate for discharge readiness.

Welcome to Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Pinecroft
We have 6 OR rooms and 2 treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in General, GI, ENT, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, Spine, Urology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN) at Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Pinecroft
The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
