Job summary

Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care using the nursing process within the OR setting. This role emphasizes accountability for care outcomes and teamwork with the perioperative staff.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of Surgery RN experience, IA RN license or compact state, and BLS/ACLS. Circulator preferred; regular days with on-call nights, weekends, and holidays are possible.

Qualifications

• One year experience as an Surgery RN.
• Circulator preferred.
• Caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and comfortable with technological systems.
• Active IA RN license or compact state.
• BLS and ACLS required or at time of hire (in-house education provided).

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care in the Operating Room area using the nursing process.
• Assume responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during the shift.
• Collaborate with nursing personnel to deliver total patient care.
• Follow age-related patient protocols for physical and psychological needs.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the Operating Room area
• Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period
• Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care
• Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients

Requirements

Schedule

• 70 hours a pay period Mon-Fri; 6:30a-5p Minimal on-call weeknights and weekend rotation
