Job summary

Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA is seeking an OR RN Circulator to provide specialized perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room. The role emphasizes careful patient assessment, coordination with surgical teams, and adherence to age-appropriate protocols.

Two shifts are available with regular daytime hours and limited on-call duties. Qualified candidates will have an IA RN license (or compact state), BLS/ACLS active, and prefer at least one year of Surgery RN Circulator experience.

Qualifications

• One year experience as a Surgery RN Circulator preferred.
• Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems.
• Active IA RN license or compact state.
• BLS and ACLS are required or at time of hire (in-house education provided).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the Operating Room area.
• Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period.
• Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care.
• Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients.

Position Highlights

Spencer Hospital is a rural hospitallocated in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.

Spencer Hospital Surgery Center performs amultitude of specialties including: general, orthopedics, ophthalmology, urology, ENT, and endoscopy averaging 550+ surgeries per month. Surgery business hours are Mon-Fri with minimal on call weekend and holiday rotations.

Schedule - Two Shifts Available:

• 70 hours a pay period
• Mon-Fri; 6:30a-5p
• Minimal on-call weeknights and weekend rotation
• The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
