Job summary

Mercy Oklahoma City is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the OB Emergency Department nights. This full-time position is 36 hours per week, in a high-energy obstetric unit with postpartum and well-newborn care.

The role emphasizes Labor & Birth competencies, accurate assessments, and responsive patient care. The RN must graduate from an accredited nursing program and hold an active RN license in the state or a compact state, with BLS certification either already held or obtained within 30

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
• Maintain current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Position requires physical ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the OB Emergency Department, Labor & Birth, Antepartum, and Well Newborn areas.
• May float between departments to meet patient care needs.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and high-quality obstetric care across shifts.

Overview:We are high-paced, high-energy unit specializing in Obstetrics and Mother Baby, Well Newborn Care along Post Women's Surgical unit. Within our unit we have:40-MB rooms,15-LDR rooms,14-High Risk Antepartum,8-bed OBED unit,4-LIBC Birthing Suites, and4-Pre Post Rooms 3-OR suites (where we circulate all of our own cases). We also have Full time Lactation Consultants who see both inpatient and outpatients. Mercy OKC is the leading delivering hospital in Oklahoma City and second leading in the Ministry. Our teams offer a comprehensive suite of services at the Love Family Women's Center.Nurses are expected to maintain competencies in Labor & Birth, Antepartum, and OB Emergency Department, and may be assigned to float between these departments based on patient care needs.

Qualifications:Education

• Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program

Licensure

• Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Physical requirements/demands

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Certifications

• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more certifications may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
