Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Nights RN for the Obstetrics and Mother Baby unit at Mercy Hospital on W Memorial Rd OB ED. This full-time role covers 36 hours per week, focusing on high-paced obstetric and newborn care, with opportunities to float between Labor & Birth, Antepartum, and OB ED.

You must be a graduate of an accredited RN program, hold an RN license in the hiring state (compact allowed), and have or obtain BLS; the role requires physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
• Current RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure.
• Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide obstetric and newborn care in a high-paced unit.
• Maintain competencies in Labor & Birth, Antepartum, and OB ED.
• Float between departments based on patient care needs.

Overview

We are high-paced, high-energy unit specializing in Obstetrics and Mother Baby, Well Newborn Care along Post Women's Surgical unit. Within our unit we have: 40-MB rooms, 15-LDR rooms, 14-High Risk Antepartum, 8-bed OBED unit, 4-LIBC Birthing Suites, and 4-Pre Post Rooms 3-OR suites (where we circulate all of our own cases). We also have Full time Lactation Consultants who see both inpatient and outpatients. Mercy OKC is the leading delivering hospital in Oklahoma City and second leading in the Ministry. Our teams offer a comprehensive suite of services at the Love Family Women's Center. Nurses are expected to maintain competencies in Labor & Birth, Antepartum, and OB Emergency Department, and may be assigned to float between these departments based on patient care needs.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
• Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more certifications may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe
