Responsibilities

• Directs activities of patient care management and hospital operations during evenings, nights, weekends and holidays in the absence of managers/directors
• Manages staffing and resources to ensure a safe patient environment and high-quality care
• Supervises patient services, equipment and supply use
• Reviews staffing schedules and assigns staff per patient needs
• Communicates patient care and staff issues to department heads and escalates as needed
• Monitors patient flow and admissions/transfers and coordinates bed assignments
• Acts as patient advocate and escalates patient-related incidents as required
• Provides resource support to staff to ensure efficient resources and quality outcomes
