Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Current State License as a RN.
• CPR Certified.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality nursing care to Residents in a rights-based environment.
• Supervises CNAs and subordinate staff to ensure tasks are completed.
• Supervises direct care of residents and nursing personnel on shift.
• Gives and receives shift reports.
• Rounds the unit multiple times to ensure safe, clean care.
• Keeps physicians and families informed of changes in residents’ condition.
• Assists in developing comprehensive care plans.
• Completes medical records documenting care and information per policy.
• Maintains infection control and standard precautions in care delivery.
• Ensures dignity, comfort, and respectful interaction with residents.
• Responds promptly to call lights.
• Assists with admissions, readmissions, and transfers.
• Communicates effectively with residents, families, peers and supervisors.
• Attends department meetings and in-services.
