Job summary

Liberty Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services seeks a Staff Development Coordinator – RN to lead the facility's education programs and nursing staff development. You will serve as the health nurse for personnel, orient new hires, and provide ongoing training in safety and clinical topics.

The role requires an RN with NC Board licensure, 5 years of long-term care or education experience, and CPR certification. You will supervise staff and participate in nursing operations as needed.

Qualifications

• RN license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Nursing experience in long-term care or nursing education.
• Ability to provide quality nursing care to geriatric patients.
• CPR certification renewed yearly.
• Ability to supervise nursing staff and assign work.
• Ability to make decisions on nursing problems.
• Ability to teach and direct orientation and in-services.
• Knowledge of personnel, department and facility procedures.
• Complies with local, state and federal requirements.
• Background checks/drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the staff development program for the facility.
• Acts as personnel health nurse for the facility.
• Provides orientation for all employees per policy.
• Conducts bloodborne pathogens training and updates staff.
• Conducts hazard communication training for new staff and yearly updates.
• Instructs Nurse Aide Training Program as approved.
• Posts workshops and continuing education classes for staff.
• Coordinates and directs in-house in-service for all staff.
• Assists nursing management in reviewing incident reports.
• Works as charge nurse or supervisor during nursing emergencies.
