Job summary

Genesis in Clovis, NM is seeking a Nurse Educator to orient and educate nursing staff, ensuring safe, evidence-based care in our long-term care facility. You will develop education programs, supervise new staff through orientation, and conduct annual competency assessments while coordinating Employee Health initiatives.

The role requires an RN, graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and experience in gerontology and adult learning.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursing center and ensure safe, effective nursing care.
• Report to the Director of Nursing and develop education programs in response to staff needs.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees during orientation.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluate nursing staff performance for education needs.
• Provide oversight to Employee Health Program (TB/hepatitis vaccines; influenza immunizations).
