Job summary

Genesis in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Nurse Educator to orient and educate nursing staff and ensure safe, quality care in a long‑term care setting. You will develop education programs, supervise orientation, and conduct competency evaluations in line with federal, state, and facility guidelines.

Ideal applicants hold an accredited nursing degree with an active RN license and have experience in gerontology and adult learning.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred.
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills required.
• Experience in Gerontology preferred.
• Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursing center and ensure safe, effective nursing care per guidelines.
• Report to the Director of Nursing.
• Develop education programs in response to staff needs and teach current practices.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees during orientation.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluate staff performance.
• Provide oversight to Employee Health Program including vaccines and immunization tracking.
